Next Saturday, 19th of September 2015, the ten-time European champions Real Madrid will entertain Granada CF at Santiago Bernabéu for Round 4 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.
Real Madrid showed no mercy on Espanyol at Estadi Cornella-El Prat last weekend. Los Merengues scored six goals against an organized team that never managed to find a way to counter Real Madrid’s blatant superiority. The Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo ended his goal drought by scoring no more no less than five goals, while leading his team to an extremely solid win in the absence of James Rodriguez, who remains sidelined due to injury.
To increase the team’s morale levels even further, Real Madrid started the new UEFA Champions League edition with a consistent home 4-0 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at Bernabéu last Tuesday night. At the end of the match, the Ukrainian side's head coach, Mircea Lucescu, wasn’t particularly happy with the referee’s work and accused him of deliberately favouring Real Madrid. Regardless of such complaints, Los Merengues were the better team throughout the entire match and deserved the three points.
Rafa Benitez’s men scored 15 goals in their last three official matches and conceded none, something that might mean that the new manager’s game processes are passing correctly to his players and that the team is considerably growing as the matches go by.
The Brazilian right back Danilo and the Colombian wonder boy James Rodriguez will miss the upcoming match due to injury.
As for Granada CF, the Andalusia based team lost two of the three matches they have played so far and are currently on the 11th place of the league table with three points.
Last weekend, Los Nazaries were completely smashed at home by Villarreal, a match during which the consecutive defensive mistakes cost them the three points. Granada’s goalkeeper Andrés Fernandez repeatedly insisted on the idea of building up the game from behind, something that proved to be completely catastrophic for the team, which kept losing the ball in their own defensive sector and allowed Villarreal to take advantage from that.
