Next Sunday, 18th of October 2015, the current La Liga leaders Villarreal will measure forces with the utterly inspired Celta de Vigo at the emblematic El Madrigal for Round 8 of the Spanish Liga BBVA.

After their fantastic league start, no one could certainly have expected that Villarreal would concede their first defeat of the new season against a modest and inconsistent opponent such as Levante. The Submarino Amarillo played for almost 60 minutes with just ten men after their Slovenian defender Bojan Jokic was shown a red card ten minutes before the break. With just ten men, Villarreal showed great resilience as they managed to withstand Levante’s pressure until the last moments of the match, when the Brazilian forward Deyverson netted in the home side’s winning goal.

Regardless of what happened in the match before the international break, Marcelino Toral’s men have been absolutely brilliant so far and they are certainly eager to return to wins in their next weekend’s complicated home fixture against Celta de Vigo. Last season, Villarreal did good against the Galician team, as they’ve won both at home and at Los Balaídos.

Suarez, Asenjo, Bakambu and Musacchio will miss next weekend’s clash due to injury, while Bojan Jokic will also not be part of Marcelino Toral’s plans, as he is currently suspended after receiving a red card against Levante before the international break.

As for Celta de Vigo, Los Celestes have been having a dream league start so far this season and they are, alongside Real Madrid, the only team that has not yet been defeated at La Liga. After their glamorous home win over the all-powerful Barcelona, Celta de Vigo have not managed to win any match, as they conceded two draws in their last two respective fixtures.

A 1-1 at the Basque Country against SD Eibar and an unexpected home goalless draw against Getafe, are Celta’s recent record, but Eduardo Berizzo’s men are certainly ready to avenge last season’s defeats against Villarreal next weekend.

Augusto Fernandez, Dejan Drazic and Andreu Fontas are still recovering from their respective injuries and are in doubt for next weekend’s clash at El Madrigal.
