Next Monday, 24th of August 2015, the FA Community Shield holders Arsenal will entertain a consistent Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium for Round 3 of the English Premier League.

After a narrow but deserved win at Britannia Stadium against Stoke City, Liverpool defeated Bournemouth at Anfield Road but the Premier League newcomers managed to cause the home side plenty of problems, especially after the break. The Reds controlled the match during the first-half and Benteke’s goal on minute 26’ didn’t come as a surprise. Brendan Rodgers’ men had plenty more chances to score but they reached half-time with just a one goal advantage. After the break, the Cherries surprised Liverpool with a fairly more attacking posture and forced the home side to work very hard in order to secure the win until the end of the match.

The Northern Irish manager fielded six English footballers in the starting XI including Joe Gomez and Jordon Ibe, two top quality youngsters that have been making a strong stand at Liverpool so far this season.

The upcoming clash against Arsenal will certainly not be an easy one for The Reds, who were heavily hammered out there last season. The last time Liverpool won at the Emirates Stadium was back in 2011, thanks to a goal from Luis Suarez and an own goal from Ramsey.

As for Arsenal, after the enormous upset in the first match of the new season, when they were defeated at home by their neighbours of West Ham, the Gunners managed to return to wins on another London derby, this time against Crystal Palace.

Arsenal’s visit to Selhurst Park was far from easy and Arsene Wenger’s men only sealed their win after an own goal from Delaney early in the second-half.

Last season Arsenal completely trashed Liverpool when the Reds visit the Emirates Stadium winning the match by 4-1. Arsene Wenger certainly hopes that his men will be able to replicate what they did last season, in order to make amends with Arsenal’s demanding supporters, who have not yet forgotten the sour defeat against West Ham.
