Next Saturday, 29th of August 2015, the current English champions Chelsea will entertain their London neighbours of Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge for Round 4 of the English Premier League.
It was a frantic first-half at The Hawthorns last weekend. Four goals in just 45 minutes and one penalty missed was the first-half record. Chelsea’s new man, Pedro Rodriguez, netted in his first goal for the Blues and put up a very good performance in his debut match for the London team. José Mourinho praised his new player’s display but he wasn’t certainly particularly happy with his team’s performance after the break.
Chelsea’s captain, John Terry, was sent off early on the second-half and five minutes later Morrison scored West Brom’s second goal, something that forced José Mourinho’s men to work very hard in order to secure the three points.
Cesar Azpilicueta, who will now have to battle for a place in the starting XI with Baba Rahman, put up an excellent performance and ended up by scoring Chelsea’s third goal just before half-time.
The last two times Chelsea played with Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, the visitors have only succumbed by a narrow margin and from what we saw from the Eagles so far this term, they will certainly cause the Blues several difficulties next weekend.
Oscar and Moses are still recovering from injury and it is yet not certain if they will be at José Mourinho’s disposal for the upcoming EPL clash.
As for Crystal Palace, after being defeated at home by Arsenal two weeks ago, the Eagles overcame Aston Villa by 2-1 at Selhurst Park last weekend. One goal from Scott Dann and another one, later in the match, from Bakary Sako granted Crystal Palace the second win of the season.
Alan Pardew has been doing a very good job with the Eagles ever since he took control of the team last season and he is certainly hoping to cause Chelsea a major upset during next weekend’s London derby.
